We are pleased to announce that the 8th annual Design and Engineering of Neutron Instruments Meeting (DENIM VIII) will be held in North Bethesda, Maryland, USA September 17-19th, 2019 with a welcome reception the evening of September 16th!
DENIM is the world’s largest and most important conference about Neutron Instrument Engineering. DENIM is held under the patronage of the International Society of Neutron Instrument Engineers (ISNIE). The ISNIE consists of members from 23 national labs, universities, and other neutron research institutions from 18 countries. DENIM has been previously held at neutron scattering facilities in England, the United States (Oak Ridge, TN), Germany, Hungary, Sweden, Australia, and Switzerland.
This years theme will be “Lessons Learned” and will include talks and posters highlighting what has worked and more importantly, what hasn’t worked in key areas of neutron instrument engineering such as shielding, motion control, vacuum, project management, neutron guide alignment, choppers, and more. DENIM VIII will include a tour of many of the fascinating labs at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) including the NIST Center for Neutron Research (NCNR).
