Abstracts

The abstract submission period has closed. Presenters have been notified via email regarding their submissions. Oral presentations and posters should be uploaded by September 10 using the widgets on the bottom of this page.

We invite you to submit an abstract for an oral presentation or poster. Oral presentations will be limited to 15-minutes followed by a 5-minute question and answer period. Any subject of interest to the neutron instrumentation engineering community is welcome for consideration. The following is a list of some example topics:

• Shielding • Vacuum Vessels • Monochromators
• Beam Slits • Collimators • Analysis
• Motion • Instrument Controls • Choppers
• Polarization Devices • Neutron Guides • Detector Systems
• Instrument Projects • Instrument Electrical Systems • Upgrades
• Project Management • Operations and Maintenance

Abstracts for oral presentations and posters will be reviewed by a panel of NIST engineers. These results will be submitted to an ISNIE Advisory Panel for their input. To make the best use of the limited number of presentation slots available during the conference, oral presentations will be selected based on:

  1. Alignment with the “Lessons Learned” Conference Theme
  2. Breadth of Impact
  3. Novelty
  4. Overall Balance of Topics

The Abstract Submission Period has been extended to July 29, 2019. We anticipate the oral presentation selection process to be complete 3 weeks after this date. You will be notified of the disposition of your Abstract Submission no later than August 21, 2019 by email to the address you provide below.

There is no practical limit to the number of posters that can be presented during the conference. Therefore, we encourage any attendee, that is interested, to submit a poster on a relevant topic. Posters will not be screened but the size will be limited to 48 inches in width and height. Posters will be on display during the conference and there will be a “Poster Slam” event giving each poster creator a 2-minute opportunity to present the highlights of his/her poster to all conference attendees.
