ISNIE Summer School 2019 – Neutron Guides

ISNIE Summer School is a satellite program of DENIM organized by the International Society of Neutron Instrument Engineers (ISNIE). The goal of summer school is to provide an in-depth overview of one or two technical aspects of neutron instrument engineering. The 1st Summer School edition, held at PSI in 2018, dealt with Neutron Shielding and Vacuum and was a great success with 32 participants and 5 expert presenters.

Summer School at NIST will be on Friday, September 20 from 9 am – 4 pm.

This year’s content will be dedicated to Neutron Guides and will cover all aspects of them from theory, design, shielding requirements and optimization simulations to installation, alignment techniques, worldwide suppliers. The day will wrap-up with a guide alignment demonstration.

The school is free and primarily designed for engineers and technicians, with or without experience.

Advanced registration for the Summer School is required! Please check the appropriate box notifying us that you wish to attend Summer School when you register for the DENIM conference. After registering you will receive instructions by email on completing the process to achieve NIST site access. Due to NIST site access restrictions we cannot register Summer School attendees during the week of the DENIM conference.
